The hobby horse riders are reminiscent of the courier riders between Münster and Osnabrück during the negotiations for the Peace of Westphalia of 1648. These riders communicated the results of the consultation to the negotiating partners.

The Protestant St. Katharienkirche has the highest church tower in the city. Very nice windows and interior fittings. Among other things: sculpture “Angel of the Last Judgment” (1969, Hans-Gerd Ruwe, Osnabrück).
