Sequoias are among the largest living things in the world and can live up to 4,000 years.
The most famous sequoia tree in the Osnabrück region is located in the former arboretum (tree park) of the mountain master Rudolf Pagenstecher on the east side of the mountain. This sequoia is around 150 years old and around 46 m high.
