The cradle of German broadcasting. The Funkerberg (formerly Windmühlenberg) is a partly wooded elevation up to 67.5 meters high in the north-west of Königs Wusterhausen in Brandenburg. Starting in 1911, the telegraph troop of the German Army set up extensive transmission systems and a radio operator barracks on the approximately 130-hectare site.

On December 22, 1920, Germany's first radio broadcast was broadcast here with a Christmas concert, earning Funkerberg the title "cradle of radio". In memory of this event, the Radio Technology Museum in Königs Wusterhausen moved into one of the transmitter buildings in 1993. Most of the buildings and technical facilities are under monument protection. Since 2014, the team building and riding hall have been converted into the "Am Funkerberg" residential complex.
