Tips
The Vils is a successful example of renaturation measures. The river has been rerouted over long stretches back to its old bed and meanders through a river valley in the Upper Palatinate Jura. The weirs are used to generate energy and are equipped with so-called fish ladders that make the river accessible to fish.
