Tips
When the building is reflected in the waters of the Vils, its arches look a bit like glasses. Perhaps that is the reason why the water gate is popularly called "city glasses". The first building mentioned in 1454 is 46 meters long and spans the Vils - definitely one of the highlights in Amberg.

The landmark of Amberg par excellence. Fortunately, decades ago, following heated debates in the city council, they did not open the third arch of the building for water flow. Otherwise we would now have a trumpet instead of city goggles.
