Yesterday, we went hiking with some Komoot users again.
With ideal hiking weather, we embarked on an extremely entertaining and varied hike, during which time flew by. The route mostly follows natural hiking trails, which, unlike our test hike in February, were easy to walk. Even the few harvester tracks

Yesterday was a premiere for me: I went with the photo club on an excursion to Lauterhofen.
It was a leisurely stroll with good conversations and a cozy stop to replenish fluids in the decidedly warm weather. Of course, photos were also taken 😋
Until now, I only knew Lauterhofen from driving through

Yesterday afternoon we went to Tirschenreuth. The destination was the great James Rizzi exhibition, which is open until August 2, 2026.
The exhibition is something for everyone who wants to immerse themselves in a wonderful, colorful world of pictures full of joie de vivre, love, peace and togetherness

After enjoying the evening atmosphere in the Rußweiher area a few weeks ago, we were drawn here early in the morning on Corpus Christi.
In the meantime, the black-headed gulls have found their way to the Rußweiher and there has been offspring everywhere. But the plant world also shows a changed picture

Today we were out with @Gabi & Gerhard in the pond area of Dießfurt and on the Haidenaab. We chose the time so that the broom would still be in bloom. The weather forecast had changed its mind several times in the last few days for this morning. In the end, we made it back to the car with dry feet. Only

Today, after almost a year, we went to Kammerweiher again. The goal wasn't to cover as much distance as possible, but simply to have a good time in the morning amidst pristine nature.
So we set off quite early. Already on the way there, we saw some fog banks lying in the hollows. We were therefore curious

The last day of our stay in Aschaffenburg was actually rainy. We tried to explore Schöntalpark twice, but were forced to turn back by heavy downpours. So we had a cozy breakfast and chilled a bit.
After a delicious dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary, the rain had actually stopped. We seized the

Yesterday morning, we visited the area of the former Augsburg military training ground in the most beautiful spring weather. The whole project is sponsored by DB, which needed compensatory areas. The project also includes the settlement of Przewalski's horses. The horses are the original form of today

Since bird watching and bird songs have been a recurring topic on recent hikes, we downloaded the free Merlin Bird ID app before the tour. We tried it out in the Seitenbachschlucht gorge and not only there. Indeed, we were amazed at how many birds were around. In the wild and romantic Seitenbachschlucht

During our holiday in the Spessart, we also spent a whole day in Miltenberg, including a boat trip on the Main to Freudenberg and back.
Unfortunately, Komoot and/or I did not record the tour through Miltenberg. So I recapitulated the tour and assigned the photos to the individual locations as best as

After yesterday's rain, we went to Eichhall today. In the damp forest, the green felt even more intense than in dry weather. At the highest point of the hike, with light fog, it became truly mystical. The ascent along the Eichhall was also breathtaking - it felt like a real primeval forest, the path

Today we visited Schönbusch Park in Aschaffenburg. The park was laid out at the end of the 18th century as an English landscape park. I am always fascinated by these parks with all their sightlines, the interplay of meadows, forest, and water, as well as the typical park architecture of the time.

Kahl a.M.

On our way to our holiday in Spessart, we paid a visit to the beautiful town of Wertheim.
The visit to idyllic Wertheim with its beautiful medieval old town, the collegiate church of St. Marien, and the castle was definitely more than worth it and was a successful start to the holiday.

On Pentecost, I saw a black stork on the edge of the Grafenwöhr training area during an excursion. Unfortunately, I didn't have a camera with me and the distance was too great to take a photo. I was all the more pleased when @Karl saw a black stork several times in the Lauterachtal valley a little later
