Since the weather forecasts for today were not really uniform, we decided to take the Hammergut hike. It's been a few years since we did the hike (back then between Christmas and New Year).
The slightly hilly hike through a typical Upper Palatinate landscape with agricultural land and forests officially begins at the market square.
On the hike there is one or the other highlight to be seen, which heralds the previous economic activity in and around Vilseck.

Beautiful summer hike through the Hirschau region.
The hike is characterized by the kaolin and the countless ponds. In between it goes through summer grain fields and the summer coniferous forest.
Too bad that in the meantime, some of the ponds are dry. On the one hand, they are probably no longer economical and, on the other hand, the increasing drought is certainly noticeable. Part of this cultural landscape is gradually disappearing. So watch and enjoy as long as possible.

Today was a great day for this hike.
The sun / cloud mix provided beautiful light and exciting motifs when taking pictures and the wind ensured pleasant temperatures.
Everywhere there were meadows, fields and roadsides full of flowers, so that you couldn't capture everything in the picture. The same applies to all the chapels and martyrs along the way. After the hike is over large parts on paved paths in open terrain, you should not necessarily do it at 30 °. With a few modifications, the tour is also suitable for bicycles.

If you want to move briefly. You can admire art, let your eyes wander into the distance towards Ossinger and enjoy the natural environment of the Vilsauen.

A varied hike that begins with the old town of Nabburg and leads through mixed forest to the Eixlberg, which invites you to take a break.
Before you reach Perschen with its open-air museum, you unfortunately have to walk about 500m along the road.
You will then be compensated with a nice walk along the Naab back to Nabburg.

I've known Wagensass since I was a teenager and I go there every now and then for hiking.
As a local recreation area of Sulzbach-Rosenberg, Wagensass offers a wide range of hiking opportunities in every season.
In addition to the hiking opportunities, the Wagensass also offers a trim roof path that is in top shape even after 40 years and a forest nature trail.

The Rauhe Kulm is perfect for a short Sunday afternoon round.
Things are a little more lively around the Rauhen Kulm. However, you are a few meters away from yourself and nature.
If you want to do something more for your condition, the tour should run in the opposite direction.

The tour was actually born out of necessity after we realized that we had forgotten the hiking shoes at home - shame on our heads 😔
Luckily I remembered the path along the Lauterach that I used to walk in my youth. At the end of the day it was a nice lap, which is 9 km long there and back.
And with appropriate footwear, the round is still expandable 😊

A super beautiful varied tour that only leads through a quiet valley. Then a climbing rock invites you to rest on the "summit". If you're lucky, goats lie in front of the rock face in proper style. Then it goes through a shady deciduous forest to the church on the Breitenstein and further along spectacular rock formations. In the end you will be rewarded with the scent of a summery coniferous forest.
