The religious granite field monument stands on the site of a previously existing late medieval wayside shrine. In pre-Reformation times, its location was considered a meeting place for the farmers of Raumetengrün, Hohenbuch and Neudorf with the Kirchenlamitz pastor, where the seeds were consecrated, a mass was read and the blessing was pronounced over the fields during the ceremonial processions.
The year "1803" and the unresolved monogram "JFK" indicate a new installation.
