It is a free-standing bell tower that was built in 1754 - the year is on the ground floor door - as a so-called bell tower for the Reformed Church. Visitors notice that such solitary towers are a trademark of the Donnersberg district. They abound here. One or two bells were hung on the top of the tower and a bell ringer was appointed. His job was to ring the bell to inform the faithful who lived in the village without their own church about the service in the neighboring village. Incidentally, this is still practiced in some villages today. But what is so special about the Katzenbach bell tower? Its "content". In addition to a small local history museum, which has existed since 1983, it has a technical sensation in store: an old hand-forged tower clock. Their wheels are driven by heavy stone weights.
