Over Obermoschel, the smallest city in the Palatinate, enthroned with its widely visible donjon the Moschellandsburg, also called Burg Landsberg. It was probably built in the 12th century by the Nahegaugrafen Emich I. Under the rule of Pfalz-Zweibrücken began the removal and conversion to a state Renaissance castle. In the aftermath of the castle was besieged several times, escaped the destruction. During the Thirty Years' War, the castle first fell into Spanish hands, then came the Swedes and the Croats. As is often the case, the French finally destroyed the castle, destroying it in 1689.
