Hiking

Hert bridge keeper's house is a protected heritage site.
It was the home of the bridge operator who had to open the center section of the revolving bridge every day to allow the boats passage.
Now the historic bridge is computer controlled.
Bridgekeeper's house now houses the tourism department.

The (currently empty) old house at the Mirabrug (Hammebrug) was the (residential) home of the bridge operator/bridge keeper. The middle section of the bridge can rotate on a vertical axis to let ships through; originally this had to be done manually.
