AstroLAB IRIS is the name of the Project and People's Observatory located in the Provincial Domain De Palingbeek in Zillebeke, Ypres, Belgium. The name of the non-profit organization developing this initiative is the Astronomische Contact Groep, abbreviated as ACG vzw. This association was founded in 1980 by a number of amateur astronomers led by Philippe Vercoutter and this as a logical continuation (adult work) on the then local Youth Association for Astronomy JVS Boötes.

AstroLAB IRIS is one of the six Flemish public observatories and is located in Zillebeke (Ypres), in the provincial domain of De Palingbeek. The observatory is open to the general public every Wednesday and Sunday afternoon. You can come and take a look for free and if the weather is nice, observe the sun through the telescope in the dome. In bad weather you can make an instructive journey through the universe in 3D with 3D glasses on your nose!

A number of activities and courses are also organized throughout the year.

Groups and classes can also request a guided tour. This takes about 2 hours.
€3 per toddler, €4 per child and €5 per adult.
The group must consist of at least 8 people and costs a minimum of € 60.
