Hiking
The town of Rheinbach can be reached by train via the S23 (for example from Bonn main station). There are two stops in the town. Coming from Bonn, the first has the lovely name "Rheinbach Römerkanal" and we spontaneously decided to get off. However, hikers on the long-distance hiking trail of the same name (VII. day stages) miss the town centre with the Römerkanal information centre.
This is closed on Mondays, however, so a visit would not have been possible today anyway. Stage V is therefore shortened by around three kilometres.
