Road Cycling Highlight (Segment)
Drive up to a place with the hauntingly beautiful name of Todenfeld... seriously? Yes, but! The Col, which is just before the state border with Rhineland-Palatinate, has established itself as a popular entry point into the Ahrgebirge of the Eifel or as a southern turning point for exits from Cologne. Part of the reason for this is the Permanente, who collects almost 190 vertical meters here every week during winter training.
Behind Rheinbach, turn left at the Waldhotel and then straight up through the Rheinbach Forest with a moderate incline percentage. A first striking feature of the ascent is the forest chapel. The beech log cast in silver, which had given the place of pilgrimage ecclesiastical importance, had to be replaced by a replica after it was stolen, but the further ascent is uphill

A classic! It is not for nothing that the WTT comes here every Saturday during winter time.

One of my favorite, relatively long but not steep. Not so much traffic and beautiful scenery.

Nice departure or just nice climb. Asphalt is still very new. On the weekend but often too much going on (cars / motorcycles)

Super asphalt, quiet road and good climb without being too steep. Once at the top you almost feel like in the Allgäu.

Safter rise initially through beautiful forest, later opens the ambience - almost as a gateway to the Eifel.

@ROAAR is right. I always like to ride the climb, even if it's not too long. But it is even and at the end of the climb in Todenfeld it has a little surprise for all "first-time climbers".

If you don't want to engrave, drive from Friesheim to Scheuren across the street ...

The descent from Todenfeld is awesome, you can run well. A beautiful plateau awaits you to the south. Great area, highly recommended!

Nice morning tour of Bonn, fresh and frosty to drive well even after the golden autumn.

From Todenfeld heading north, I find the descent more pleasant than the other way around because it is a freshly paved road that is easy to see. Here you can really let off steam or, as Werner already said, "luckily it's only downhill to the construction site".
