The “Rhine Apple Route” is a cycle path 124 kilometers long that connects the towns and communities of Bornheim, Alfter, Wachtberg, Meckenheim, Rheinbach and Swisttal in the Rhein-Sieg district on the left bank of the Rhine. It is a project of the “Rhein-Voreifel-Touristik eV”. The route covers the largest fruit and vegetable growing area in North Rhine-Westphalia, with around three million apple trees in the region.
In each of the different towns there is a local side route, sometimes called loops, as well as adventure stations.
