Today I had planned a part of the old coronation road from Frankfurt to Aachen on my way to the castle ruin Landskron in the Ahr valley. This connecting road, which was once important in the Middle Ages and on which Landskron Castle also played an important role, is now only a dirt road. And there are only a few stones left from the castle. However, from the Landskrone you have a uniquely beautiful view down into the Ahr valley down to Bad Neuenahr and the motorway bridge crossing there. Back then I went past a few ostriches and woolly pigs to Berkum, where I treated myself to the well-deserved cherry sprinkle with coffee. Then the route was almost flat to Rheinbach, whereby I particularly liked the bypass past Adendorf through the forest and the section through Meckenheim along the Swistbach.

Today, when the weather is nice, the eBike is used for the first time! It should be an easy, easy tour on dry and well paved paths so that you don't have to clean the bike again. 😇 But many a trail was either so churned up by forest work or wild boar that it was difficult to get through, or there were fallen trees around that did not exactly make the tour easier. Once, however, I was really unlucky - on the trail to the Steinbach Dam, I strayed a bit and suddenly landed with my bike in a large mud pit, which I simply could not see because of the many leaves on it! That was not planned! 😂🤣😁 The next time I will use the bike paths again with KOMOOT ... 👍😊

That was a nice tour today through a varied landscape with bright sunshine and spring-like temperatures. Frank from Bliesheim, who completed the route twice in a row, gave me the idea for this tour - he was so impressed by it! And I have to say that he's really right. It's beautiful down in the valley of the cute one. In contrast, you are then led up to the slate mountains, which almost give you a really alpine impression. However, the ups and downs are also pretty hard on the legs, so that 11 km are enough! 💪😁

Today we went from Rheinbach to Bad Münstereifel on rather wet and partly really muddy forest trails. There weren't many people around for that, so I largely had the forest to myself. In any case, I would not have wanted to ride a bike here! 😁🤣😂 I gave myself a brief stop for a cappuccino at the Steinbach dam. In the afternoon the sun really came out. Coffee and cake in the Printenhaus in Bad Münstereifel were a nice end to a nice hike!

Well, the weather was modest today! I only saw the sun shortly before sunset. Otherwise it was cold and foggy gray. But the movement was good - and it was actually not exhausting - it just went down the mountain! 👍😀
A special highlight on this tour was actually only the Melbtal, which I had never seen before (how often have I driven down the Venusberg by car to the Melbbad ...! 🙄). So that's really nice there! I highly recommend it!
A few rays of sunshine might have strengthened this impression ... 🙄😊

The opportunity was good to combine my visit to Oldenburg with a short hike to Rastede. The flat country offers fairly uniform impressions: long oak avenues and endless pastures and fields. Now and then there is one or the other special highlight ... 👍😊

This tour did not necessarily have any particular highlights, although it simply offered great views in today's beautiful weather. Today I just wanted to test my performance on a somewhat longer hike. And I have to say that the foot that was operated on last summer held up quite well. After 6 months now I can walk quite well again!
The hiking route first led along the edge of the forest to Flamersheim. A wonderful way! Unfortunately, the section along the country road (600 meters) was unsightly and dangerous! A total wrong planning by me 😌!
Afterwards there was at least something to strengthen in the Voigt bakery & confectionery in the EDEKA supermarket in Flamersheim.
Unfortunately, the route to Euskirchen doesn't offer much. Shortly before Euskirchen some hiking trails became really adventurous! I had trouble finding them at all! It was then a temporary bridge and then a barrier to overcome (the KOMOOT apparently did not know!).
The graduation at the Park-Cafe Kramer over coffee and cake in Euskirchen was really deserved! 👍😊🏆😇

The idea for this tour came to me when I found a short description of it in the Bonn General-Anzeiger a few days ago. Because I had never got to know this corner to the right of the Rhine, I had to go there!
And up to 11 degrees and sun were the order of the day! But then it was just the sun. The temperatures in the daytime were only around freezing!
From the Schladern train station, it went up to Windeck Castle at the very beginning. The pain up and down on the other side is worth it!
Windeck is an imposing castle that can be seen from afar and is particularly effective due to the well-preserved remains of a former window front over two floors.
Another highlight was the victory "waterfall", which is rather just an imposing weir - but definitely nice to look at.
I also really liked the way along the Sieg!
Finally, there was a bee sting and coffee in the Koch bakery in Schladern station!
2020 can come now! 🥂
