The chapel was built into the beguinage wall on Badderijstraat. Inside is a statue of Our Lady with Child.
The wall bears the date 1784. That date refers to the placement of the statue, not to the construction of the wall, which must have been built six years earlier.

Since September 2025, the beguinage garden has reopened after being closed for two and a half years for restoration work.
First, the beguinage houses were restored. They will become the new home for the Art and Architecture students of Hasselt University. The surrounding garden was also renovated with accessibility in mind, and enriched with more than 11,000 trees, shrubs, and flower bulbs. The ruins of St. Catherine's Church, destroyed during a bombing raid in 1944, have been given a central place again, with a beautiful reflecting pool amidst the old walls.
