According to legend, the following happened: Count Adolf von Nassau had trouble with the
Friedberger Burgmannen. The conflict ended with Count Adolf von den Burgmannen
was arrested in a feud in 1347 and was only released for a ransom. Lucky for the Count and the Burgmannen. The Count got his freedom and the Friedberg Burgmannen used the unexpected income to build a new tower in the north of the
Plant - today's Adolf Tower. The tower is 58 meters high in total. Below there is a dungeon to visit, above two viewing platforms invite you to look far beyond the city limits. On a clear day you have a panoramic view of the landscapes of the Wetterau, the Taunus, the Vogelsberg and the Rhein-Main plain with its impressive Frankfurt skyline. Jens Eisenkrämer, a professional climber from Friedberg, had a completely different view of the butter churn tower in 2011. He dared the first ascent of Friedberg's landmark.

The “Adolfsturm” on the castle grounds offers views over the Wetterau region and is a tourist highlight.
