On October 2, 1961, 53 residents of the Thuringian region fled

Böseckendorf to Immingerode, about 3 km away. 13 other Böseckendorfer left the GDR in the night of February 22nd to 23rd, 1963, also through a partially mined restricted area. These two memorial stones stand as a reminder of those nights of escape.
