a visit to the Landesgartenschau (State Garden Show) in Leinefelde-Worbis under the motto: „Reconciliation between town and country“.
So, off we went!
Pascale had a few days between all the graduation parties to spend with us. He drove us to Leinefelde.

Today we walked a stretch of the Altenbeken Viaduct Trail (Viadukt Wanderweg Altenbeken).
A must for all railway fans!
And where could a hike on the theme of railways begin more fittingly than at a historic steam locomotive. The heavy freight train steam locomotive 044 389-5 was built in 1941 and has stood

Today we undertook a pure pleasure hike in the Eggegebirge 👍!
We started in the small, picturesque village of Leopoldstal. On the first few meters, we discovered the Protestant church on the cycle path, which, thanks to a very friendly lady, we were also able to visit from the inside. A modern building

And now we are in Paderborn!
On the way from the parking lot to the city center, we passed the cathedral.

Below the Bärenstein ridge trail, there is a large rock formation. We, as great rock lovers, had chosen it as our goal for today.
We started directly at the hotel and hiked again through a beech forest, initially parallel to the rocks, past many forest spirits to the turn-off for the rock formation.

The starting point was the Friedenstal bus stop. From here we hiked steeply uphill on the Hermannsweg, first on a linden avenue and later through a beech forest to the Hermann Monument.
It commemorates the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest in 9 AD and was completed in 1875 by Ernst

Today was all about the Externsteine.
These, in the southern Teutoburg Forest between Horn and Detmold, are a unique natural and cultural monument! The five sandstone rocks were set upright during the folding of the mountain range and exposed and shaped by erosion forces over the last 65 million years

We were still missing a small section of the Karst Hiking Trail, specifically from Barbis to Bad Lauterberg. We tackled this today in the form of a circular hike.
We started at the car park in Barbis, near a petrol station. First, we walked along a residential street, then we went onto the idyllic Philosophenweg
