Former Castle Church Schöneiche

an early Gothic fieldstone building that was renovated and expanded in 1725 as a baroque plastered building.
Due to the effects of the war, the rich interior of the castle church was almost completely lost - even the stately paintings by the couple Severin and Rosina Schindler were missing for a long time. Rediscovered in the Berlin City Museum's storeroom, the paintings were restored and reframed and returned to their place in the church thanks to an extensive fundraising campaign. The community bought the building from the Catholic Church in 1984. In 1986, extensive restoration began, which was financed with the help of grants and the municipality's own funds. The building has been used as a concert hall since 1994 and as a registry office since 1997.

Right next door is a lovely café with ice cream and cakes. The castle park is also highly recommended.
