Alt-Saarbrück was said to have been located, in the neighborhood of the Halberg, on the same side to the Sar as the Halberg was approaching. There must have been a wooden bridge over the Sar, so the city had the name Saarbrücken ", according to the chronicler Johann Andreae in his" Genealogia Nassovica "(1637).
