Liethenmühle

The inn and grounds have had better days.

On the Malerweg between Gohrisch and Schmilka you will find the small Gasthaus Liethenmühle. It lies almost exactly in the middle between the two places and thus offers itself perfectly as a place for a cozy rest.

Were warmly welcomed and immediately felt very well. Both as a stopover during the hike, as well as the overnight warmly recommended. The food delicious, the drinks and the best: the price is right!

Due to its idyllic location, in the middle of a basin between cribs and Kleinhennersdorf, the Liethenmühle especially appeals to the peace and relaxation seeking guest. The watermill was built in 1572 and is one of the most famous mills in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. Until 1900, grain was still being ground here. It has been a pub and hostel since 1901 and since then, the old half-timbered house has been transformed into a popular retreat with its ornate gables and walls.

After setting the mill operation was the "Liethenmühle" among other whereabouts of spa guests as well as from 1968-1990 company vacation home of the
VEB Uhrenwerke Ruhla.

Since the turn of the inn, the inn is again managed privately.

Very idyllic location, unfortunately I can not say anything about the food since I got there right after breakfast

Food was good.

The Liethenmühle is idyllically situated in the valley between Krippen and Kleinhennersdorf. If you are looking for peace and quiet, you will find it here.

Unfortunately, we passed here on a day of rest, of all places, we were looking forward to a coffee. Days of rest are Monday and Tuesday. Otherwise the Liethenmühle is very nicely situated.

Attention in this restaurant is cheated. We cycled up here because of the idyllic location with our mountain bikes. It was Friday evening and we were hungry.
Roast wild boar with dumplings and red cabbage was written on the blackboard outside at no price. We were then deducted € 16.20 per portion which was not even particularly large. When we left the place suddenly the price of 16.20 € was on the table. I call that fraud. So please be careful. Unfortunately we missed the vacation a bit.
