Because the Schrammsteine are one of the highlights in Saxon Switzerland because of the great panoramic views, it can of course be overcrowded here in summer. In winter, however, comparatively few hikers go here and there are no traffic jams along the narrow paths. The view at dusk is highly recommended. The descent from the Schrammsteinen takes about half an hour, so you should arrive in Postelwitz before it gets dark.

  • The viewpoint offers a magnificent view over one of the most impressive rock formations of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. A visit is almost a must for the hiking enthusiast. The path over the ridge is not necessarily suitable for children, because you have to walk along narrow places along the precipice. Although the railings offer a degree of security, but you should already walk carefully and carefully the way. The path already rewards with its location on the rocky ridge and impresses with a touch of mountaineering feeling.

  • Worthwhile and impressive ridge path. Runs - as the name implies - often on the ridge or on the mountain ridge and thus often falls steeply to the left and right. So I would like to recommend this part of the way only moderately high-altitude and sure-footed visitors. Special precautions should be taken when walking with infants. There are many handrails and railings, but they still offer an above-average risk potential. On weekends and holidays, as well as during the warmer months, the ridge is often overcrowded, which often leads to congestion and sometimes to accident-prone situations. Nevertheless a really great way, which can be combined excellently with hikes from the valleys right and left or with tours from the monkey stones.

  • One of the hiking highlights in Saxon Switzerland. The view of the rock formation in front of the surrounding landscape more than sufficiently damages the strenuous climb.

  • On stairs made of wood and iron and sometimes also over iron ladders it goes up high on the Schrammsteine. A little bit dizzy you should already be rewarded with fantastic views.

  • The Schrammsteingratweg and of course the Schrammstein view are great. There are ladders and worn sandstone paths. The road to Schmilka takes a long time. At the end of the path you should be able to climb. Attention dog owners - it is difficult - ladders and steel stairs make it hard for the four-legged friends. If you still want to dare with Hundi - please tie a fixed harness, that helps immensely.
At times the view is very crowded!
In the evening always an experience, but attention, who came up there has to go down again and in the dark, the ladders and stairs of the short ways can be harder to commit.

  • A fantastic path with magnificent views and views into forests and rocky world. I avoid this way but on weekends and holidays. In the week or especially in winter (crampons recommended) a great experience.

  • Nice tour for in between. When it rains, you should walk with care, as it can get very slippery in different places.
