Hiking Highlight
The Schrammsteintor is one of the most stunning rock formations in the entire national park. Towering towering the rocks on both sides above you. Climbers love the steep walls and in good weather you can see them high up and on top of the Schrammsteine.

The Schrammsteintor is the portal to the Schrammsteinen. Here comes the feeling that you are no longer in Germany. The deeply cut passage between the rocks is completely covered with sand and looks like a piece of desert. Here it can be rested well.

You feel like in another world here. The fine sand between the rocks is wonderful.

A good start for a Schrammstein discovery, even without having to make big climbs or climbing steep slopes.

Beautiful nature, the Schrammsteine are a great natural phenomenon. But I had to leave the dogs at home. The ascents and descents are not feasible due to the ladders for inexperienced dogs and without suitable harness for abseiling!

How dumb you have to be to do strictly forbidden things and then step on the internet. The Saxon Switzerland is (unfortunately) NOT a MTB playground. The few allowed bike paths can also do with a touring bike.
You move in a national park, where certain rules prevail, to which ALL have to hold. It is a duty of everyone to inform themselves in advance about the local circumstances and peculiarities. Saxon Switzerland is so small and overrun by people that wrongdoing leads quickly to negative effects.

As the name suggests, the Schrammsteintor is the entrance portal to the Schrammsteinen with very impressive rock formations that are really worth seeing.
In places you believe that you are on a sandy beach when you trudge through the finest sandbox sand. The erosion has left clear marks on many rocks. There are numerous photo opportunities here, especially in the early morning light.

Impressive rock formations that accompany you over parts of the way. Too bad for trail running :-)

Here is a very interesting place. The rocks seem to be arranged around a sandy place like a stage design. Around this square there are tall, steep towers between which the path leads. The place invites you to take a break.

Up to the vantage point you have to climb up some ladders - at the top you can share the nciht secured viewing platform with many other hikers. Attention it is a one-way street up, then it goes down over the Jägerstieg or directly to the ridge path.
