The old grain market hall from the middle of the 19th century was rebuilt in 2005 at the old location. Not in full length, however: a good quarter of the original 430 m long iron construction could be restored from decades of stored components. Since the Italian Slow Food Group operates the hall, business seems to be booming again. Italianità next to the Viktualienmarkt.

After long discussions and delays, the Schranne was rebuilt in July 2003. The quality of the architectural design of the reconstruction and the newly erected southern end building was discussed in public.Source and further information
