The Düsseldorf Rheinterrasse is located in the north of the courtyard complex, on the opposite side of the Joseph-Beuys-Ufer and is one of the permanent buildings erected by Wilhelm Kreis on the occasion of the Gesolei. The Rheinterrasse Düsseldorf, built in 1926, was planned as a large restaurant with several cafes and event halls.

The building has been a listed building since 1982. In 1994, the remaining part was changed by Hentrich, Petschnigg & Partner and expanded to include the so-called Radschläger-Saal in steel frame construction and with large glass surfaces.

The single-storey, elongated structure with a transverse structure in the south was built parallel to the Rhine and comprises five halls of different sizes that can accommodate 70 to 1070 people. The center of the building is the Rheingoldsaal on an oval floor plan, to which further extensions and terraces are connected. The Rheingoldsaal is provided with a shell-shaped golden umbrella dome and appears on the outside in the form of a central building that is convexly curved towards the street and flanked by two towers. On the Rhine side, the facade swings in concave accordingly. The outside terrace in front of the Yellow Salon with a view of the Rhine is designed as a semicircle.
The design principles of the facade correspond to those of the museum buildings, but are more heavily modified than on the Ehrenhof complex.

Really great place to visit on the Rhine. You can sit outside just about 1.5 km from the bustling old town.
