Hiking

The Nesselgrund Viaduct (also known as the Nesselgrund Bridge) used to consist of two three-arched vault bridges. The viaduct was not only a defining feature of the town, it was also generally regarded as a “gateway to the Dresden Heath”. In 1999 and 2018 the old bridge was replaced by reinforced concrete bridges.

Hiking

Already in 1845 there was a bridge construction as a wooden structure on stone plinths and in 1853 a three-arched vault bridge as a viaduct. The former village benefited from the railway connection. In the second half of the 19th century, villas and spa facilities were built on what had previously been royal property and the newly created district was henceforth called Königswald. We can discover a few of these villas on the Nesselgrundweg.
