Church on Lechelstrasse at the beginning of Hartmannshofer Park. On both sides of the street there is a pilgrimage route with wooden boxes, behind glass the way of the cross. Sculptures and crosses in the church garden.

The church from 1932 is one of four churches in Munich that the young architect Hans Döllgast was able to build between 1931 and 1934, and which was largely spared from wartime destruction and subsequent reconstruction. Döllgast's churches from this period all follow a uniform pattern based on the type of early Christian basilica.
After only a ridge turret was originally planned, the large church tower was built in 1959/60 and equipped with five bells. The inscription inside "Initium Sapientiae Timor Domini" means "The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord".

In 1926, a wooden emergency church was first erected in Hartmannshofen [...]. Even this building received the Archangel Raphael as its patron. In 1932, the [current] church was built. [...] After originally only a steeple was planned, the large church tower was built in 1959/60 and equipped with five bells.
Since 2005, the parish of St. Raphael has formed a parish association with the parish of Maria Trost.
