As early as 1315, a church building on the site of St. George is mentioned in a document. Foundations uncovered during renovation work also allow the conclusion that a previous church already stood there in the 9th century. Today's parish church Sankt Georg represents the type of a so-called choir church with the three-story church tower, which carries an octagonal fourth floor. This type of church is not uncommon in the west of Munich, as it was a popular architectural style of rural churches in the Middle Ages. The Romanesque St. George's Church was expanded in the Gothic style around 1610 and is decorated inside with a baroque cycle of pictures.
