Hiking

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the independence of Belgium and at the same time as the World Exhibition, King Leopold II had the Jubilee Park (Parc du Cinquantenaire) built in 1880. The architect Gédéon Bordiau drew up the plans. The intention was to create a green area with pavilions for various exhibitions. The triumphal arch (arcade) connects two wings covering a total area of 30 hectares. Note the beautiful symmetry of the French and English-inspired gardens, the lawns and the wide avenues.

Hiking

The magnificent "Parc du Cinquantenaire" or "Jubelpark" was created in 1880 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Belgian independence. It is surmounted by a triumphal arch with 3 passage arches. In and around the park are various museums. Among other things, the "Musée Royal de l'Armée" or the "Musée Art & Histoire".

Hiking

A thoroughly nice park and a nearby museum of high quality. You can quite easily spend a day here around the park and the museum. Here is some info on the museum - The Royal Museum of the Armed Forces and Military History is a military museum that occupies the two northernmost halls of the historic complex in Cinquantenaire Park in Brussels, Belgium. The park is set on the continuation of Rue de la Loi/Wetstraat, which starts at the end of Brussels' Park before the Royal Palace.
