A castle that looks great. It is often used for photo shoot.

Gimborn is a very small town, almost untouched. All buildings are historical and embedded in a beautiful forest landscape. Excellent starting point for walks, hikes and mountain bike tours. There are more suitable areas for road bikes.
"Normally" Gimborn offers gastronomy, ideal for lunch or dinner on weekends, in the afternoon there is coffee and cake, waffles and a very nice beer garden.
Medium price level, the prices are reasonable and OK.
The castle cannot be visited (inside), the castle park, ponds etc. can be walked around with a short walk.
Quite a few single trails nearby, but lots of forest trails.
Condition or battery is required, we are in the Bergisches Land and here it goes either up or down ...

The Gimborn Castle is a castle in the Gimborn district of the municipality of Marienheide in the Oberberg district in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The castle is located in a remote valley of the upper Leppe at 278 meters above sea level. The complex has been owned by the barons of Fürstenberg zu Gimborn since 1874.

The castle has served as a conference and meeting place for the International Police Association since 1969. Once a year, it opens its doors to the shooting festival of the Gimborner St. Sebastianus Rifle Brotherhood. Wikipedia

The castle was first mentioned in 1180 and probably should be older than most members on Komoot. Since 1970, the building houses the IBZ (International Police Education Center).
In the immediate vicinity is the castle hotel. Here is the opportunity to rest.

The whole place is worth seeing; Castle, church, hotel and the other old buildings fit together. The castle is rented and not accessible.
