Autumn in the Siebengebirge, overcast skies, temperatures in the single digits, not a ray of sunshine to brighten the gloom.

Today I anticipated the hike planned for June 2nd as part of the Ahr Valley Summit Festival, only to find that the journey from Bonn using public transport was the biggest challenge of the day. This means that the transport transition will not happen - despite the Germany ticket.

Today we went on a circular hike around the Hasenberg from Kreuzberg. The path led along beautiful, narrow meadow paths, often lined with broom, through the Sahrbach valley, past old mountain tunnels to the Ahr heights with great views over flower meadows to the Eifel and the Siebengebirge.
