  • This enclosure also offers opportunities to observe the diurnal fallow deer. At different times of the year it offers changing sights. The antlers are shed in late April to early May. A short time later, new horns develop under a fur-like skin - the bast. Again 3 months later the bast is swept off, it first hangs in shreds from the antlers, where the bare bones then come to light.
