The Schoonselhof or the Antwerp Père-Lachaise has been a civil cemetery since 1921. Although during the Great War, 1914 - 1918, the German occupier used the castle park as a cemetery. The Schoonselhof is a park of no less than 84 hectares. The Père-Lachaise cemetery in Paris is only 43.93 hectares in size.
