1900-1902 the Hamburg state built a new port station for the interests of Hapag, today called Hapag-Halle (official railway station: Amerikabahnhof). The equipment in the waiting room for first and second class passengers (domed hall) aroused general admiration (first electric light in a building in Cuxhaven). It was based on the sophisticated furnishings of the lounges on the ships, e.g. E.g. the DEUTSCHLAND, which made its maiden voyage from Cuxhaven to New York in 1900 and was the largest and fastest ship in the world at the time. Hapag was the largest shipping company in the world as early as 1900 and remained so until the First World War. Their connections were no longer limited to traffic with America, they were now present on all continents. This role was also expressed through the portal that led into the domed hall of the Hapag hall. The Hapag motto β€œMY FELD IS THE WORLD”, which unfortunately fell victim to the β€œmodernization mania” of the 1950s, was emblazoned above the heads of two seafarers.

This building complex was built in the years 1900-1902. He is one of the few surviving witnesses to the great wave of emigration to America. Today it serves for passengers of cruise ships.
