Against the NW wind by train to Otterndorf. With the wind through the Kehdinger expanse! This vastness is an experience in itself.
The changing landscape: demolition and abandonment on the one hand and new construction on the other.
Variety through the waterways: Medem, Hadelner Canal and Neuhaus Bükauer Canal. Some of them have wonderful accompanying paths.
Up and down, curve left, curve right - this is how it goes on the bypass south of the Wingst. A detour to the Balksee is worthwhile.
To Lamstedt on the county road. About halfway along it goes parallel to the county road in the forest. Very nice!!
Well-guided by signs, it soon goes down to the Oste lowlands: moors left and right, birch trees line the path. Magnificent view of the eastern landscape from Bullenberg.
Short break at the Bremervörde lake and the small inland harbor for pleasure boats - unfortunately without the seal today.
Through the Horner Holz and the Tinster Forest: I stop at the former fulling mill: a massive oak has overturned - in the right direction, away from the road. A very large root plate - and an equally large hole in the soft forest floor.
I then reach my destination in Hagen via Mulsum and Fredenbeck.
The highlight today was the tail wind - I wish you that too.
I am now saying goodbye to komoot for a long time.
My program consists of radiation therapy for 6 weeks and chemo for 2 weeks.
My "weather report": tail wind! the cancer is very curable.

The Geest was dry - the Braken had many wet areas, almost like a moorland.
In the process, a tree has lost its hold in the ground.
The forest as a water reservoir - interesting.
Light and cool wind from SW. Nevertheless, many families use the day for an excursion.
Thought by the way: if the roads for car traffic were in the same condition as the bike paths, we would probably have an uprising .....

A single broken tree in the forest. I'll see that. Beetle larvae (from the bark beetle?!) Destroyed the tree from the inside. For no externally recognizable reason, it will eventually fall over! The tree could also fall on the path. The wind is very weak. Nobody expects that !!! That's why I'm taking these recordings - warning. But this tree also has a symbolic effect: there are many things that look strong and healthy from the outside. But is that also the case from the inside? There are political examples, but also financial ones, etc. I'm thinking of Wirecard ......
      This picture makes me think.

A violent change in weather accompanies this tour. Dark clouds move from Schleswig-Holstein over the Elbe and also bring rain.
But then a ray of sunshine lights up a ship on the Elbe or the electricity pylons near Lühesand! Splendid.
From Jork the paths are wet with rain. The rain has gone - joy!
The dramatic change in weather acts like a staging. - Theater for the eyes - on a small as well as on a large scale.
      Almost in life ...

A new roundabout is to open up a new city district. In preparation, the closed business is being demolished here.
A hall is being built at the end of the town. Looks like a mikado in the air.
Stadersand was a common target. The container ships that came like pearls from Hamburg were a surprise.
The Sosco Shipping Caprocorn has a side surface of: 400 m length, approx. 60 m height. The wind presses on this surface! If the ship is too slow in the narrow deep-water fairway, it will be pushed to the bank.
That is around 24,000 m2. For comparison: the Gorch-Fock has a sail area of 2,037 m2.
      Sailors can handle that!
Tip: Media library broadcast in the WELT program Saturday, March 13th. 8:05 p.m. Container giant MSC OSCAR 20,000 km at sea!
At the level of the Schwing estuary, the ship is suddenly illuminated by the sun! Lucky for the photo.
From the Schwinge bascule bridge there is again a beautiful view of the silhouette of Stade today.
The approx. 30 km / h west wind ensures a brisk drive to Horneburg.
The tour goes back in the wind protection of the Rustj Forest.

Restart:The E.Bike is ready to go again: new rear wheel (freewheel was broken), drive (chain, pinion on the motor and cassette rear wheel - that lasts approx. 9,000 km again), brake pads, brake levers, handles and battery service costs 450 €) quickly done and good service. Runs great again. The restart in the weather change was impressive. Dark cloud cover at the start of the tour - blue sky and sun on the bridge in the swing meadows! Everything shines.
A fresh start also for the earthworm - first aid - in the shadows.
A new start is probably also for the mole - suddenly his house is on the water. Moving out or swimming pool?
A new start for the toads too - the road is closed to traffic. Right of way for a new generation.
There is plenty of water today.

Sunny day with very weak wind. A day tour with battery replacement was planned.
As soon as I got out of Hagen, I had no more propulsion. The pedals turned and the chain ran over the sprockets. But the advance had suddenly stopped. Nothing worked anymore.
Bike to Harsefeld for repair and service. First diagnosis upon acceptance: chain and rear cassette need new. We'll see the rest of it when we look through it.
The chain, front sprocket and rear cassette have driven around 9,500 km.
At least 10 days of bad weather - that fits exactly.
Positive: it didn't catch me somewhere far away in the moor area.

That was my idea: for the SOKO Hamburg office building on the corner of the Elbe and Steendiek Canal. Without the film decoration on the house, the building looks a bit lost and desolate. Remaining stock of the Deutsche Werft on the Steendiek Canal.
But in front of the building there is a super super good view of the Hamburg harbor to the Elbphilharmonie.
Up to this point it was 52 km of varied drive via Horneburg and Buxtehude. The drive from Buxtehude along the Este via Estebrugge, Hove to Cranz is recommended.
Large farmsteads in the sunlight, the many curves on the dike, a detour to Estebrugge, the Sietas shipyard in Cranz.
Continue along the Airbus site with the viewing hill. Great flight movements today !!!!
The bank of the Elbe at Rüschpark is a highlight in itself. In good weather (like today) the view of the Hamburg harbor to the Elbphilharmonie is very impressive. Don't forget binoculars and a camera with a good telephoto.
The return trip via Mittelkichen and Dollern was considerably shorter at 33 km. I only drove in Eco mode. I arrived with a remaining range of 4 km. That fit exactly.

Weak wind from NW. The fully overcast sky cleared the way for the sun in the last third of the tour.
Interesting circuit over the Geest and the Frankenmoor.
Lots of power - that was my turn today.
