Wind gusts from west with 7 nis 8 with fast weather change - just a hail shower, then again full sun. Great! Fleeting music in the ear enhances the good mood. I smile: suddenly I hear the film music "Gone with the Wind". The tide is at its peak when I reach city sand. The strong, steady west wind pushes extra water on top. That gives floods in Vordeichgelände. The Schwigne is brought to depth - it is a federal waterway! The special vessel pumps high pressure air onto the sediment on the ground and whirls it up - the low tide then carries it away. A car driver misjudged the situation and got stuck in the flood at the dike foot. Spring is in many places - it starts to bloom again! A varied route continues along the Elbe to Grünendeich and sTeinkirchen. Against the wind, I take the economic road on the railway line in the protection of Geest edge to Stade.

Natureum: a spacious area with many focal points, a main building with a worth seeing permanent exhibition and special events, in addition vantage points, which allow a wide view of the areas on the banks of the Elbe - bird watching !!
The event today: ICELAND - Birdlife and landscapes in the Westfjords. An hour to enjoy!

In Stade I explore further new ways from the moat to Hohenwedel. From Brunnenweg I follow the train on a wide dirt road - easy to drive. After Hammah, it is initially curvy through a meadow landscape with a rest area (cabin and park bench) - recommendation in the sun - and continue on asphalt road to Hammah. My destination in Himmelfporten is a well-stocked bakery near the train station. Seating on the pane and bike directly in front of it. Extensive meadow landscape to Kuhla>: a good with Neben- and residential buildings on the road. At the entrance of a dilapidated half-timbered house with open gable window. Passing by, I see a cat sitting in the gable window, turn around and shoot my photo. The cat has experience and is interested in posing. On the village street: a proud colorful rooster and a hen. I do not know the breed. But very nice animals. When the camera was ready to shoot, the cock runs away, the hen is looking the situation a bit longer and then runs back. In front of the "Hohe Moor" a group of cranes. A small gathering about 50 to 100 meters from the road. I stop my ride. They are not bothered. Maybe they know that.
This was an "animal" good tour through the weather kitchen, partly on new ways.

Afternoon: short time to Stadersand. Surprise: the Greundiek is located on the quay in Stadersand. Normally, the city port in Stade is their mooring. With luck you can catch them on a special trip here in Stadersand or on the Elbe.
      de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greundiek
here is more info. I read that we had the ship and I in the same year "launching" had.
For family celebrations you can charter the whole ship. In addition, special trips are offered, e.g. via the Kiel Canal to Kiel or to the Harbor Birthday in Hamburg. If you feel like driving, necessarily.

The heavy weather front is through. With stormy gusts of wind, but dry it goes with the fight of the sun with the clouds to city sand. The Elbe has reached the highest level of the flood. Bank areas are partially flooded. Stade: in the Kehdingertorsvorstadt a district is completely redesigned. Preliminary work for the motorway connection to the A 26 (in the tunnel under the swingarm). A large supermarket is already finished, a very large hardware store is nearing completion.
As a precaution, a crane was secured in the industrial area Bützfleht. Safety works.
Stadersand and Elbe lie in the interplay of sun and cloud shadow. This is very fast, some motifs are already in the shadows when the photo is to be shot.
But when the sun comes through, the brightness is impressive.
Café Stadersand is now open every day. On a circumferential gallery many ship models are exhibited.
With tailwind through the Old Country. New power pylons for a new 380 kV line are being built on the A 26 motorway. This replaces the existing 220 kV line. Their masts will be dismantled later. The new masts are on average 73 m high, maximum 99 m. Each new mast is held by 4 concrete blocks (together they weigh 520 t). The foundations go from 18 to 27 m into the ground (deposits of the Elbe since the last ice age). Objective: Completion of the work for 25 new masts in August 2020 (data: Stader Tageblatt 2.3.19).
Again many nice impressions. Sorry Sofa - you lost today!

Shortly behind Horneburg in Neuhof: a large, old farmhouse on the Lühe was demolished - the area was re-measured and here arise about 8 single-family homes. Change just.
In Steinkirchen, the sun comes through properly - first make good on the Lühe bridge change! A worth seeing place, beautiful center with bakery café beside the church, radiant half-timbering everywhere, the car bridge over the Lühe, the small harbor quay, the Nebengassen and then the first view of the Hogendiekbrücke in the sunlight from the Lühedeich. A pleasure.
The approach to Lühe-Anleger (Grünendeich-Lühedeich) leads first over the Lühebrücke and then follows the dike crown. Impressive insights and views of housing right behind the Lühedeich, also several lighthouses and the residential development on the barrage.
Lühe investors: the Elbe has high tide. Quiet water surface and a fantastic view over the power poles of Lühesand up to the industrial complex Bützfleth.
Ebb and flood: constant change, sometimes the Elbe is icy in winter, sometimes mirror-smooth or choppy waves make it difficult for the sailors. Impressive cloud formations - especially with a passing storm or a low sun shining in dark rain clouds. It's never the same - always in change. An absolute highlight.

Baujahr 1907. MAN Maschine leistet 75 PS. Heute Museumsschiff.

The sun invites you for a walk through the monastery garden in the center of Harsefeld, as well as through the archaeological excavation results of the former Benedictine monastery. Overall, a place of rest with many accesses from the surrounding streets.
From 969 there was a castle of the Counts, from 1101 - 1647 a Benedictine monastery, which was directly under the Pope. The church, built in the mid-14th century, formed the southern end of the entire monastery.
The today's Friedrich-Huth library served from 1742 - 1885 as official and court seat, from 1901 - 1973 served the office of the forest administration, was later school and is now used as a library and has a council hall.
The "symbols of power" at the Harsefelder Museum consist of two parts:
      - the "Krümme" stands for the Benedictine monastery founded in 1101 by the Count family
      - the "coin" depicts the denarius coined around 980 by Count Henry II
If you bring your time, you can immerse yourself in the 1,000,000 years of history in the local court and, above all, in the museum, when it's open in the church, and relax in the park or ice cream parlor in the center.

The first destination was the youth hostel in Stade: Information for the Aller tour with my grandson at the beginning of April.
About the swing valley> (here it really goes downhill from the Geest and along the B 74 I reach the High Moor near Oldendorf Cranes I could not see - but hear! And suddenly the thought is there: what do I do if Here suddenly a wolf appears on the way? It remains at the thought Tip: who drives through here should do this only if the days before were dry!
In Oldendorf I meet other komoot-friends from Hagen at the bakery-café. Nice surprise and good conversation.
Via Himmelpforten I reach Stade in Schölisch. Meeting with my grandson and his family. Vote for the Aller tour. Everything ok for the Easter holidays. All we need is good weather.
With a very atmospheric sky after sunset I reach Hagen.
