But today finally went. A little insight into the Grand Canyon of Mallorca. The Torrent de Pareis. The starting point is in Sa Calobra. The journey there alone is worth the visit. The roads down the cliffs are breathtaking.
Sa Calobra itself consists only of restaurants and souvenir shops. Passing the wide pebble beach of Cala de sa Calobra, you head towards the exit of the gorge. The first crossing of a watercourse is not long in coming. Confident that it was the first and last, I take off my shoes and put them back on the other side. Soon I'll be taught better. For the next crossings I just walk through it. You have to climb past truck-sized rocks that block the path and repeatedly go through ponds with knee-deep water. Between the climbing passages you balance over large rocks with medicine balls and jump more than you walk ...

After we were in Palma and the weather didn't get better, we visited the stalactite cave in Artá. Just spectacular what nature has created. 1cm stalagmite or stalagtite takes about 100 years to grow 😲

Before the rain should come, we walked a little bit through the old town of Palma. When it got full from 10 a.m., we were happy to have finished our tour. Big cities are just not for us at all. But it was still worth seeing.

Today was relaxing by the pool. But then just lying down didn't work out. So we went to the nearest town, Binissalem. A nice place with a great church. Today we bought something to eat there on the first day of our vacation and didn't cook it ourselves.
By the way, I first drove there to dispose of the rubbish and then walked to the apartment to pick up my girlfriend. Then they went back together on foot.

Actually we wanted to see the mightiest natural wonder of Mallorca today. The Torrent de Pareis. It is also known as the Grand Canyon of Mallorca. We started again before sunrise. But soon the police blocked the journey. It just said: it is not possible ... Maybe there was a rock fall or something like that during the storms in the mountains in the last few days.
However. So I quickly changed my mind and decided to take a trip to the northernmost tip of the island. It was definitely worth it. The journey there is simply terrific. There were also a lot of racing cyclists on the road again. On the way back, a photo stop at Platja de Formentor.

Today at sunrise in the very east of the island. Finally we could see the sun rise from the sea. Very quiet area in a nature reserve. Partly very rough paths over the cased coastal plateau. There was no breeze and the air is still extremely humid. The water just runs off your head while standing 🥵 so we were happy to be back at the car at half past ten.

Today we went to the southeast coast of Mallorca. Start was again before sunrise 🌄. You could only park a little outside in a huge parking lot (I was wondering why you need such a huge parking lot here, because we were the only ones standing there).
It was always along the picturesque coastline, past macchia and pine scrub with grandiose views of the sea. There was not a soul on the way. So just to my liking. When the sun rose, the scenery was just perfect 😃
Back at the "starting beach" then the shock. Everything full of people. I felt like I was at a festival. The parking lot was now so full that we were completely parked and only got out because a newly parked vehicle let us through.
Let's get out of here ...

Today we went to the Bay of Alcúdia. Always on sandy paths, along the lonely coast, away from the tourist hustle and bustle of Alcúdia or Can Picafort.

After a day at the pool in the apartment, we went to Deià today. Fortunately, we got there quite early so that we could still find a parking space without any problems. The air was very humid today and we sweat like crazy at the beginning of the tour. The hike led to the beach, a little along the coast and a bit back through the village. When we got back to the village, it was already pretty full and we were glad that we could continue.
