A much gentler gradient than Monsal Head and a more enjoyable climb/descent.

Probably the best road in the Peak District, going up or down. There are bigger climbs, longer climbs, harder climbs, and wider views elsewhere, but this road gives you a bit of everything - woodlands, a rocky canyon, grasslands, fields, and narrow twisty turns. It's good fun.

Cycling

Lovely little quiet lane that skirts along the edge of Wardlow Hay Cop down into Cressbrook Dale. It's a narrow single lane but not many cars use it. Makes a change from slogging up Monsal and, although it's longer, its not as steep.
