After a few bike tours we were back to the excitement of the Surrey hills and the Mtb trails around Peaslake that never fail to excite some great tracks and recommend route but river Wey path was a disappointment as a few miles of very bumpy track did not do it for me.

The trip down from Coombe Jibblet was tricky as the track was heavily rutted so I would expect if you tried to cycle up this way it would be horrible. Some nice lanes and a few bridleways until you reach Donnington park and castle very nice. We took detour to visit a relative's former house in Newbury then returned via the Kennet canal. Very pleasant route

Very nice route along the Kennet canal a few fun bridleways a very interesting Greenham common and ending with a big climb up to Jibblets Coombe where you are rewarded with great views.

It seems I am now collecting counties that I have cycled in and having collected all the S.E England in the last year took the opportunity of good weather to bag a few in the Midlands. Some nice Bridleway and lanes but highlights were Rutland water where the path around not only had great views but was quite entertaining. The lanes and Bridleway around Launde Abbey was very picturesque and the Welland valley Viaduct was very impressive. Recommend route

The reverse of trip that I have done before but rerouted avoiding multiple kissing gates and the worse section of mud. Very enjoyable route with some very good climbs and descents and the mud had dried enough to make the paths fun. Recommend route

Very good route though some of the Mtb routes of the Surrey hills around Peaslake some of the descents are not for the fainthearted

Great trip. Started from Partridge green along a very pleasant disused railway towards the SDW. The climb up to the SDW was huge but at least did not have to push anywhere. The SDW is always entertaining and with picturesque views and fun descents. Took a detour off the SDW for a section and it was good fun so would recommend it. Got off the SDW and went to Midhurst for a picnic lunch very Tudor feel to the Market square with lots of pubs so worth a detour. The trip back was great fun on woodland paths, bridleway, and quite lanes.
Highly recommend route.March 21, 2021
