The Zinnaer Tor is a historic city gate, which is almost in its original state. It points to the approx. 4 km distant monastery Zinna.

The north-facing Zinnaer Tor is the exotic part of Jüterbog's city fortifications, which are otherwise aligned along an east-west axis, but is in no way inferior to the other two city gates, Dammtor and Neumarkttor. It is the only one of the three city gates that is still traversed by road traffic, albeit only as a one-way street in a north-south direction.

Of the three city gates of Jüterbog, the northern Zinna Gate with its inner gate has been preserved. All city gates were double gates with defensive towers, ward walls and drawbridges in between. In the 16th century, the city was considered impregnable due to its strong fortifications. At the Zinnaer Tor, a plaque with a club stands out. Such plaques hang on all the city gates of Jüterbog. The saying refers to a rich cloth maker who is said to have bequeathed his property to his children prematurely and was then abandoned."Whoever gives bread to his children and later suffers need himself, let him be beaten to death with a club."
