Once in Brompton around West Berlin on one of the longest Sundays of the year - “La Superbe” is ready. And this was the first time I took part in this edition.A nice group of five Brompton riders and a good friend met at the Brandenburg Gate at seven on this hot day. And then it started. Even after ten years of living in Potsdam and seven years in Berlin, this tour opened up the city and the surrounding area to me again. I drove cross-connections that I didn't know yet, through green corridors that were previously closed to me and even the corners that I already knew make a new sense on the long lap. There were no breakdowns apart from small things, a hose was changed to be on the safe side. And next time I have to secure my new pointer axis for the BWR circuit better with the knurled nut.Otherwise, it was not only the longest tour I've done with the folding bike, but the longest bike tour ever. Apart from knee problems occurring in between, I arrived really happy. And this tour opens up further long tours for me. Great.

Today is the nationwide action day rent freeze. In over 80 locations across Germany, people are campaigning for a nationwide rent freeze. The DGB Kreisverband Tempelhof-Schöneberg has forwarded this request to Jan-Marco Luczak, CDU member, and Kevin Kühnert.

The ADFC Tempelhof and the bicycle-friendly Tempelhof-Schöneberg network today held a demonstration to draw attention to the poor connection to Marienfelde. If you want to go from Marienfelde into the city, you have to drive along busy federal highways. There are no bike paths or broken ruins on long stretches there. And three years after the Mobility Act came into force, nothing has changed in that regard. Rather, neither the Senate nor the districts fulfill their tasks. Lengthy coordination, internal administrative conflicts and a lack of staff paralyze the turnaround in traffic. This can not continue like that. And that's why we took to the streets.

After a year break, rally again. This time from the direction of Tempelhof we went to the Gradestrasse driveway and it went quite quickly. But once again it becomes clear what different efforts are made for car and bicycle traffic. It is therefore always the right thing to do on the demo route on the Autobahn.

A good relationship includes time together. And that is what we spent today on the Havel. However, the many motor sports boats including water skis, which on the one hand caused a hell of a noise and on the other hand caused high waves, were annoying.

The monument bridge is currently closed due to a construction site. Resourceful neighbors enjoy the silence with bridge picnics and are happy about a permanent block for cars, which would also calm the whole neighborhood.

You know that: the evening before you look at the weather and it becomes clear, the next day it goes from the northeast to the southwest. From the Uckermark back to Berlin. So let yourself get out of bed early, have a good breakfast while you are asleep, pack everything, and then shortly before you pull your ticket on the portable telephone - until it becomes clear: the train is canceled and there is no longer enough time for the longer distance to the replacement train.Because the hour later no longer coincides with the afternoon appointment, I rescheduled and the Uckermark is moving to the Fläming. It still takes a while to get away and of course I have to drive the first 3 kilometers to notice that my wallet misses me at home. So the question was: either cake or drive longer. And a bike ride without a cake is pointless. So the route has to be shortened further and the route at Schwielowsee has to be replaced by the certainly comparable picturesque B2 route. On the way there I go through the classic racing bike routes (Güterfelde, Philippstal), but my Brompton does well when I overtake some racing cyclists. In view of the few north-south connections south of Berlin, the large amount of root damage along the B2 is surprising. If you already have so few paths here, you should actually be able to look after them. The opportunity arose to drive into the parallel company Wildenbruch-Lehnmarke again. Around a golf club there are pretty, ugly detached houses, which are supposed to represent new-fangled villas with bay windows, turrets, columns and other stylistic devices. Occasionally there are gold-plated vases and fence spikes. So who lives here? The trained sociologist in me sees here above all the representation of my own wealth and success. It is the privileged milieu in the traditional lines of power and property (as opposed to cultural elites). The estate tries to convey the impression of exclusivity, but there are always breaks: Kitschy fountains and other decorative elements do not form a coherent whole, it lacks the elegant elegance, the self-confident and stylish taste that you can see in the Berlin suburb of Potsdam. The prosperity seems to be applied too thickly, which speaks very strongly in favor of a rising fraction. And this is also confirmed in the front part: “terraced villas” are a contradiction in terms. Bourdieu would have been delighted. After a short picnic at Seddinsee and the tour around Beelitz, we finally head out towards Bad Belzig on a real bike route. Unfortunately I don't have the time, I miss 10 minutes to get the retreat in Belzig, so the route ends in Baitz.Since the weather situation should (unfortunately) harden, the Uckermark will certainly follow in the next week.

Can I get around the Wall Cycle Path on the Brompton in a day? A group tries this every year and this year on June 20th. (bromptonauten.de/phorum3/read.php?1,46649,46711). A friend wants to come along but wanted to have sat longer on the Brompton beforehand. And for this we drove together today according to the wind direction from Jüterbog to Berlin and made a detour to Blankensee to the bakery there. He on my Brompton, I on the trekking bike and Jens kindly accompanied us.From Jüterbog to Luckenwalde, the Fläming skate, which is well attended today, could still be used. Then it went from Luckenwalde to shortly after Ahrensdorf on "utility cycle paths", which at least serve the minimum requirement of getting from place to place, but are not touristy and relaxing. But just along the road. That changed from Schönhagen. From here via Blankensee to Nudow, it is about 16 kilometers on country roads that are often heavily used and without bike paths. And that despite the fact that many people ride their bikes there. There are not enough good bike connections to and from Berlin in Teltow-Fläming. Other counties have solved that better. Jens comes to the same conclusion in his tour report: komoot.de/tour/375427234And to the baker: you can make it, but at least apple and crumble cakes didn't stand out.

On the third Wednesday in May, the Ride of Silence takes place in memory of those killed in traffic on the bike. 700 people drove through the city in silence and in white clothing yesterday to remind them that many people are torn from their lives here every year and that around 100 more people are affected as relatives in each case. Behind the number of 19 people killed in 2021 are fates that these numbers are unable to express. This is why the demand for safe crossings and safe trucking is so overdue. However, the fact that cyclists should get used to and move closer to car traffic - as was implicitly demanded by the ADFC speaker at the end of yesterday - that cannot be a solution. Rather, it has to be about forcing the perception of cyclists in case of doubt through better intersections and through stronger braking.
