The Belgian armed forces operated a missile position here from 1963, on which 23 long-range anti-aircraft missiles were stationed as part of the NATO air defense until the early 1990s. The position was part of a missile locking belt. From 1982 onwards, nuclear warheads were stationed here under direct control of the USA, and they were transported away in 1988/89. Unfortunately, the site is not accessible, but it is exciting that such a "Lost Place" can be found here, in the middle of nowhere in the Eifel. In the future, however, a photovoltaic system is to be built there.
