This fen is beautifully situated on the Gorp & Roovert estate.
There are benches where you can enjoy the view. Unfortunately, you cannot walk all the way around this fen. The bank fen is only accessible from this side.

Every child in Goirle can tell you straight away where Bankven is located. This is because the Bankven is experienced as an integral part of the municipality, because it is one of the few remaining heivennen from the fens belt that once surrounded the village, is the home of the Ice Club of the same name and - especially now - an important element of natural beauty. Whoever says "Bankven", says Goirle. At least for the feeling. In reality, the fen belongs to the territory of Hilvarenbeek, which almost pushes its municipal boundary in this region against the old St. Janskerk. Those van Beek have always had to go for a long walk to get to "their" Bankven. The Goirlen residents were much closer to it. And they have benefited enough from that.
