The town hall in Brilon am Markt is one of the oldest town halls in Germany. It was built as a guild house in the 13th century. In the time of the Hanseatic League, local craftsmen and shopkeepers as well as foreign merchants offered their goods. At 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. the carillon at the town hall shows scenes from the Brilon Schnadegang (border inspection).
