Location: Wörth am Rhein, Germersheim, Südpfalz, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany
In the south of the districts of Germersheim and Südliche Weinstraße, between the Palatinate Forest and the Rheinauen, lies the alluvial fan landscape of the Bienwald, which is unique from a national and European perspective. Here you will find the last original stream floodplain forests in southern Germany. The special attraction of this landscape results from the rich mosaic of different biotope types, from dry shifting sand dunes to wet alder forests, embedded in two valley lowlands characterized by grassland - the Bruchbach-Otterbach lowland and the Lauterlowland.
The area is important as a habitat for hundreds of state and federally endangered plant and animal species. Many of these species are only very rarely found outside the project area in Rhineland-Palatinate.

Although it was a forest path and straight, there was a lot of variety in this special landscape
