In the Bienwald on the Westwallweg there is still a small shelter as a reminder of the Second World War. This was designed as a fighting device and firing position. However, the one-man bunker pictured in the photo is not in the original location, but the bunkers were partially buried and / or secured by additional walls. The bunker we visited was made of concrete and provided with access hatches and viewing slits. Nearby is also an anti-tank ditch, which did not allow the tanks any further "advance".

Interesting to see how the war went back then. Actually, I'm not that interested in history, but if you can combine historical facts with hiking, that's more than ok for me
