My approach to this sculpture on behalf of the Ribnitz-Damgarten Lions Club came about after talking to people who still knew Olga von Oertzen personally and who described her as a very original, angular personality who sometimes hit the table with a knotted stick when you opened The offices went a little too slowly, because they had been vehemently committed to refugees during and after the war.
The fact that her dog Optimus was a constant companion and she liked to smoke cigars was of course a welcome starting point for the depiction with her somewhat martial habitus. Perhaps the writing in the stele could have been a little stronger, but it shouldn't be too monumental either, but rather offer something more to discover. -Reinhard Dietrich-

The last canoness and dominatrix of the monastery once lived in Ribnitz Monastery. Olga Friederike Richardine von Oertzen was her name and she was born on September 29, 1875. With her present and boyish demeanor she gained some notoriety and it is thanks to her that she received the valuable Ribnitz monastery order and its statutes.
As a tip, take a look behind the statue: her dog Optimus is hiding there. A beautiful story that you can learn in Ribnitz Monastery.
