The town hall Ribnitz with the seat of the mayor of the amber city is the main location of the administration. This is where all the threads come together...
At this location you will find the main and personnel office with the subject areas of resident registration and business matters (here: registrations, de-registrations and re-registrations), the financial administration office with the subject areas cash register and taxes/insurance as well as the office for construction, economy and real estate.

The Ribnitz town hall is one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. Designed by master bricklayer Johann Georg Wilhelmy, its architectural style was based on town halls based on the models of the Mecklenburg court architect Johann Georg Barca. The latter led the construction. The town hall was built from 1832 to 1834. The stones needed for the new building were obtained from Marlow's Kulturenberg brickworks and were also obtained by demolishing the fishing gate and parts of the city wall.

The town hall had a dual function. Citizens could manage their affairs there and also have their children educated there, as the city school was housed in the side wing until 1912.
