The oldest part of St. Bartholomew's Church, the choir, dates from 1230.
The brick church tower was inaugurated in 1887.

The St. Bartholomew Church consists of five parts that were built at different times: chancel, nave, tower, sacristy and south portal.

The chancel was built before 1260 as a square brick building and originally had a vault that was destroyed in the Thirty Years' War. It has had a flat wooden ceiling since the 17th century. The wall niches on the south side were uncovered in 2002 and are now in their original condition from around 1280.

The nave was built in the 15th century as a late Gothic brick building with a barrel-shaped wooden ceiling. The ceiling paintings were created around 1890.

The current tower was inaugurated in 1887 and replaced the half-timbered tower built in 1723, which was demolished in 1884.

The sacristy was probably built in the 14th century and has a cross vault.

The south portal was built in its current form in connection with the construction of the tower around 1890.

The church's furnishings also combine old elements with modern elements. The bells date from 1457 and 1601, the crucifix from the 15th century, the altar and pulpit are baroque, and a coat of arms epitaph is dated to 1680. The baptismal font from the 19th century comes from the Berlin workshop of M. Geiss. The Sauer organ is only a few decades old; it was made in 1971. Three windows with the themes of faith, love and hope were created in 2002 by the artist Thomas Kuzio. The most recent piece of equipment (2003) is the Bartholomew relief made of bronze and wood, made by the Cologne sculptor Chantal Vogt.
