Historic Half-Timbered Houses on Tiefstraße, Kempen

Old half-timbered houses are often hidden behind the facades of this street, which were mostly redesigned in the 19th century.

This one is one of the oldest, as it was built in 1513, as can be seen from examining its beams. The upper floor is striking because it protrudes towards the street - both to create living space in the narrow alley and to create a stately impression. When compared with the original condition, the smaller windows are particularly noticeable.
